Mr. Merab Malania, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs along with Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, the Director of the Emergency Management Agency opened in Akhaltsikhe a renovated building of Samtskhe-Javakheti Emergency Situations Management Division of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA.
The Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA has repaired the old firefighting-rescue building and rehabilitated the existing infrastructure. The renovated building of Akhaltsikhe Division is furnished with the latest hardware, equipment; also the training tower was repaired.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs had a tour around the rehabilitated building, viewed fire- rescue technique, the firefighting and rescue equipment and new garage. 33 firefighter-rescuers and 5 employees of administration will be employed in the renovated building.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs ensures rehabilitation and construction of firefighters and rescuers buildings throughout the country. In 2016 11 building of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of the MIA were rehabilitated and furnished with a modern equipment; 1 new building was constructed. By the end of the current year 3 buildings will be built and 1 old building is planned to be renovated.
