As a result of a traffic accident on the left bank of the Mtkvari River in Tbilisi, a vehicle with several passengers fell into the Mtkvari River.
After the report was received, immediate search and rescue operations were launched by firefighters, as a result of which one individual was safely pulled out of the water. Rescue operations are in progress for other car passengers, in which, along with firefighters, a group of divers, water transportation means and all relevant water rescue special equipment are involved.
We would like to inform the public that within the framework of the ongoing rescue operations in the Mtkvari River, it is planned to reduce the water level in the Mtkvari River bed to the natural level, which is related to the violation of the water flow regime. We would like to request the population to exercise caution and refrain from moving near the riverbed and adjacent areas in the lower reaches of the Ortachala HPP.
