Young candidates from Georgia are given the opportunity to study at the United States Coast Guard Academy – USCGA. The USCGA has offered the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia to select candidates for its 4 year-intensive bachelor program.
The US Government will bear all the expenses, including tuition fee, monthly payments, food and uniform expenses.
The Academy offers eight major fields of study, which include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering; Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Operations Research and Computer Analysis, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Government, Management. Additional directions include: navigation, law enforcement, and summer program - practical vessel and aviation exercises.
A candidate to gain entrance to the Academy is required to pass the US admission process and to be accepted by to the Ministry of internal Affairs of Georgia.
Graduates are obligated to serve in the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia for, at least, six years upon graduation.
