The Information-Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular: The number of visitors in September, 2015 amounted to 568 663 – more by 12,6 % than the index of the same period in 2014. According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific number is the following:
a) Tourist - 227 130 visits (39,9%, of general number, increase by 15,8 % in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit –143 258 visits (25,2% of general number, increase by 10,4% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other - 198 275 visits (34,9%, of general number, increase by 10,8% in comparison by the same index of the last year);
As for January-September period the number of visits to the country amounted to 4 491 039 – more by 6,7% than the index of the same period in 2014.
The most of the visits in September 2015 was paid again from Turkey (-9%), Azerbaijan (+76%), Armenia (+6,9%), Russia (12,6%) and Ukraine (+11,7%). Positive tendency is also preserved in connection with EU countries: in terms of the increasing number of arrivals to Georgia in January-September period the following countries traditionally took the leading position: Lithuania, Great Britain,Italy, Germany and Latvia (relevantly 20%, 17%, 12%, 12% and 11%). Middle Asia countries –Kazakhstan (34%). Number of arrivals to Georgia from Eastern European countries is the following: Belarus (54%) Asian countries – United Arab Emirates increase by 814% and Saudi Arabia (84% increase), Near East-Israel 38% increase from USA is also worth noting (9%).
