Under the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of health and Social Protection, meeting with minors was held in connection with International Day on the Protection of Children from Violence and Sexual Exploitation.
At the meeting MIA representatives discussed forms of violence against children, including bullying, children trafficking and threats of online sexual exploitation as well as on various grave crimes and prevention mechanisms. Law enforcers also reviewed crimes in which children may be involved as victims or witnesses.
Representative of 112 center provided children with detailed information on the agency’s hot line -116006. Officers of cybercrime division acquainted young guests with cybercrime threats and gave advices on how to safely use internet. Representative of the Service Agency tackles the issue on the children’s rights and protection mechanisms. Participants of the meeting provided comprehensive answers to all questions raised.
At the meeting guests were acquainted with the MIA-led social campaign “Power to Trust” and discussed its importance. They also clarified that all forms of violence is punishable by the law. MIA representatives gave out symbolic gifts and presented videos of the EC aimed against the violence.
International Day on the Protection of Children from Violence and Sexual Exploitation is marked annually by EC “Lanzarote Convention” member states on November 18.
