Director of Emergency Situations Management Agency Zviad Katsashvili and Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University- Vladimer Papava signed memorandum on cooperation. The mentioned memorandum is the first stage of the program adopted at Catastrophes Risk Mitigation Conference held on April 18, in Sendai, Japan which implies several terms planed in the educational field. The program is aimed at getting comprehensive information on catastrophes prevention, mitigation, preparedness, restoring and rehabilitation.
The memorandum, under the current legislation, also includes emergency prevention, response and safety training requirements in order to ensure the preparation and implementation of training programs.
On the basis of cooperation the action plan is in the process of elaboration according to which special training course will be implemented to train personnel of the University Administration and for holding relevant joint training. For the master program students special training program- “Energency situation management and safety” will be elaborated.
