Media representatives were granted certificates upon the completion of media seminar at MIA Academy Upon the completion of media seminar organized by Public Relations Department at MIA Academy all participants were handed out certificates. Media seminar lasted for two days and was aimed at raising media representatives’ awareness in police issues and providing them with comprehensive information on Master and Bachelor programs held at MIA Academy as well as on professional trainings of policemen. It is notable that such seminar for journalists was held for the first time. Seminar includes both, theory and practical parts. Theoretical part includes presentations on the following topics: personal data as the important component of the right to privacy; the right to assembly and manifestation; Prohibition of discrimination; legal guarantees for safety of journalists; human rights and fundamental freedoms issues. Seminar was led by senior inspector of Patrol Police Faculty of professional training division of MIA Academy- Ivane Khazhalia and personal data protection officer of Academy administration- Nino Saginashvili. At the seminar journalists received comprehensive answers to all topical questions. Journalists were acquainted with presentation on –“Study Process at MIA Academy” which was introduced by Nodar Saakashvili- head of Patrol Police Faculty of professional training division. Presentation included the following topics: professional and academic studies at MIA Academy, Bachelor and Master programs, requirements for the admissions, local and international cooperation.
Within the frames of the media seminar journalists had the opportunity to tour around the Academy’s infrastructure and view mock jury court, real and imitated shooting ranges and were familiarized with presentation regarding legal basis on using weapons. Journalists also attended imitated scene of the place of incident which was arranged at the forensic cabinet.
