Delegation from Poland visited Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Representatives of the firefighting school of Warsaw, Rafael Matuskevich and Martin Lapich were hosted by the director of MIA Emergency Situations Management Agency Zviad Katsashvili and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Merab Malania. The visit was implemented within the frames of the project “Poland Assistance 2016” facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
At the meeting sides expressed readiness for the future cooperation and planned joint activities.
Within the frames of the visit polish colleagues handed over special rescue equipment to MIA Emergency Situations Management Agency, including Chemical-resistant clothing, special appliance for detection of flammable gases and explosive materials, detector of multi-gas and other toxic substances, infrared camera and many other.
Besides the visit of the delegation and within the frames of the project-“Underground Infrastructure Assistance development in Georgia”, polish experts held training for the Georgian colleagues which implied practical trainings at the underground facilities. The mentioned trainings are held within the frames of memorandum concluded between Georgia and Poland that will contribute to improve response quality of the rescue operations.
