The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained deputy head of railway pass division of “Georgian Railway” –Merab Gogaladze and engineer of “Chinese Railway” Grigol I. for bribery and assistance in bribery.
Investigation established that Merab Gogaladze, by misusing his powers demanded 15 000USD from the citizen and received the mentioned sum as a bribe for illegal extraction of silicon manganin on his operational territory, under the railway bridge.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of commercial bribery, article 221, III part of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisaging from 4 to 6 years of imprisonment.
