Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs opened the refurbished building of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti in Ambrolauri.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Merab Malania, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, the Director of the Emergency Situations Management Agency, the state governor of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti and the representatives of Ambrolauri Municipality.
The MIA Emergency Situations Management Agency repaired the old fire-rescue building and rehabilitated the infrastructure in the vicinity. Refurbished venue of Ambrolauri Division is equipped with new, modern equipment and technique, the training tower has been also repaired.
Mr. Giorgi Mgebrishvili – along with the guests – had a tour around the refurbished building and viewed fire-rescue equipment, full equipment of firefighter-rescuers and the renovated garage.
29 firefighter-rescuers and 5 employees of the Administration work in the refurbished building.
The Minister of Internal Affairs awarded 4 firefighter-rescuers with the Certificates of Appreciation for their faithful and outstanding performance.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs proceeds with the rehabilitation and construction of the firefighting-rescue buildings across the country; since 2015 until now 12 buildings of the MIA Emergency Situations Management Service have been refurbished and equipped with the latest technical equipment and 1 new building has been built. Construction of 3 new buildings and refurbishment of 4 old ones is planned to the end of the current year.
