The officers of the Investigation and Detectives Divisions of Kakheti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as Lagodekhi and Akhmeta Police Divisions of the same department, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out at different times, arrested 5 persons on drug crimes.
The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage and possession of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs committed by a group with a prior agreement: B.A., born in 1993, and previously convicted persons: S.S., born in 1979, T.N., born in 1973, K.K., born in 1968. and D.M., born in 1965.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Based on a judge's ruling, the police carried out an undercover purchase of drugs and secretly recorded the process.
Law enforcement officers seized the drugs "buprenorphine" and "dried marijuana" as evidence during the personal search of the detainees, and search activities held in residential homes and farm. A large and especially large amount of plants containing narcotics were seized from a greenhouse set up for the cultivation of narcotics.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 265 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
