As a result of various operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized illegal firearms, ammunition, and a large amount of drugs - 7 persons were arrested.
The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms and ammunition, purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of narcotics, as well as illegal purchase, storage, and possession of a large amount of "marijuana": J.M., born in 1958. and persons with multiple previous convictions: G.K. born in 1980, G.F. born in 1992, K.Kh. born in 1967, G.A. born in 1973, N.B. born in 1996, currently under probation, and I.Q. born in 1983.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
As a result of the personal searching of detainees, residential homes, vehicles, and auxiliary storage rooms, law enforcement officers seized various types of firearms and ammunition as evidence, including: firearms, hunting rifles, hand grenades, pistols, a large number of cartridges, and explosive devices.
The police also seized a particularly large amount of the narcotics "heroin" and "dried marijuana". The investigation is underway under Articles 236, 260 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
