Despite multiple calls from the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the rally on Rustaveli Avenue in the vicinity of the Parliament building repeatedly exceeded the norms established by the law on assembly and demonstration.
Throughout the night, members of rally confronted police verbally and physically. Activists on Rustaveli Avenue threw various objects, stones, pyrotechnics, glass bottles and iron objects in the direction of law enforcement officers.
As a result of violent actions of protestors, 10 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were injured. One policeman remains in the medical facility with burns in different parts of his body.
Public clearly witnessed violent, illegal actions of participants of the rally on various TV channels. Despite numerous calls, rally participants in the vicinity of legislative body damaged infrastructure of Tbilisi Municipality and that of private individuals, damaged protective gate of Parliament, set fires on wires and different objects, erected barricades and damaged Parliament's entrance gate and video surveillance cameras.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs resorted to special means defined by law to restore order.
107 persons have been detained by law enforcers in accordance with Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for disobedience to the legal request of the police officer and petty hooliganism.
