As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Main Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 7 persons on drug-related charges.
The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs, preparation of sale, illegal purchase and storage of marijuana and psychotropic substances: A.T., born in 1971, I.Sh., born in 1999, D.M., born in 1978, A.Z., born in 2001, O.M., born in 1998, A.N., born in 1993, and G.A., born in 1992.
Among the detainees are citizens of Georgia, Ukraine, Israel and Egypt.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
During the personsonal search of the detainees and their belongings as well as vehicles, residential buildings, and from the locations indicated by them, law enforcement officers seized large and especially large amounts of narcotic drugs as evidence, including: "Cocaine", "Subotex", "Methadone", "Buprenorphine", "Codeine", "Lyrica" and "Marijuana".
As a result of the conducted investigative actions, the police seized materials necessary for packing narcotic drugs, electric scales, adhesive tapes and polyethylene bags.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 18-260, 261 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
