The representatives of Patrol Police Department warned the organizers of the demonstration gathered in the vicinity of the parliament building and gave them a reasonable time to clear the entrances of the legislative body from artificially created barriers.
It has been two days since the organizers of demonstration have blocked all the entrances of the legislative body. Besides, political leaders have actively called on supporters to hinder the activities of the parliament. The freedom of expression and assembly exceeded the limits set by the legislation, in particular, Article 9 of the Law of Georgia on Assemblies and Manifestations, which prohibits blocking the entrances of the legislative body and obstructing its activities, has been violated.
According to the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations, it is also prohibited to partially or completely block the traffic if the number of participants does not require this.
If upon expiring of the reasonable time given to the organizers from the side of police and local self-government representatives, the entrance of the legislative body, as well as traffic road will not be freed, Ministry of Internal Affairs will act according to the mandate prescribed by the legislation and will carry out corresponding measures.
Demonstrants gathered in the vicinity of the parliament- particularly on the streets of Zakaria Chichinadze, 9 April, Brothers Zubadalashvili and Rustaveli Avenue can move in the direction of the Freedom Sqaure.
