The Minister of Internal affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri held the meeting with the Special Representative of the Federal Government of the Republic of Germany for Migration Agreements - Joachim Stamp, paying an official visit to Georgia.
Whithin the scope of the meeting the parties discussed the importance of existing cooperation between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany. Special emphasis was made to the enhancement of in the field of fight against illegal migration, as well as labour migration.
Vakhtang Gomelauri underscored the importance of Federal Republic of Germany's decision to include Georgia in the list of safe countries of origin. He noted that the decision of the German Government serves as a validation of Georgia's democratic governance and attests to the effective protection of human rights by the state institutions of Georgia.
The Special Representative of the Federal Government of the Republic of Germany for Migration Agreements positively assessed the successful law enforcement cooperation between two countries and expressed readiness to expand existing collaborative relations in different directions.
At the end of the meeting Joachim Stamp thanked the Georgian side for hospitality and expressed hope that through joint efforts the parties will fortify successful future cooperation.
