The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science announced the paintings and essays competition across the schools of the country within the frames of the road safety social campaign "For Your Sake, For Your Safety". The main idea of the competition was "Let's Protect Traffic Rules Together for the Sake of Each Other."
Among 150 essays and 300 paintings represented by the schoolchildren the special jury revealed 9 winners and 21 outstanding works.
The jury consisted of: Mr. Archil Talakvadze, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs; Mrs. Thea Pertaia, Head of Public Relations Department; Mrs. Pikria Mikaberidze, chief specialist of Policy and Programs Division of the General Education Management and Development Department; Mrs. Ia Vakhtangishvili, chief specialist of the same Division; Mr. Shalva Ogbaidze, resident of the Transport Federation of Georgia, member of the Tbilisi Cotu Council; Mr. Davit Meskhishvili, Chairman of the Transport and Roads Association; Mrs. Eka Laliashvili, Head of the "Alliance of Georgia for Safe Roads"; Mr. Giorgi Kekelidze, writer, Director General of the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia; Mrs. Rusudan Petviashvili, artist; Mr. Guga Tevdoradze, the artist and Mrs. Nana Chichua, the psychologist.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the traffic safety long-term, large-scale social campaign in 2015. The campaign aims to prevent road accidents and to raise public awareness of road safety.
