"Today's event should be a clear message: those who do not need the protection in our country, should leave Germany as soon as the process is ended; if this does not happen voluntarily, they will be subjected to expulsion. This is in the interest of the people, who are really in need of protection, as well as the mentioned serves to the interests of their countries. I and my Georgian colleague agreed that we will proceed with the readmission to Georgia of the individuals who are not in need of protection. "
Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia declared:
"One of the significant spheres of Georgia-EU cooperation is the effective implementation of the Readmission Agreement. More than 93% of the applications of the EU member states are satisfied by Georgia while this index from the part of Germany is almost 100%.
I am sure that cooperation between our agencies in the fight against illegal migration will become even more effective.
In this case, we are talking about the citizens of Georgia, who use the EU “asylum” seeker review extended procedure as an opportunity to stay in the country and abuse the time given to them for their unfaithful purposes.
Georgia’s police cooperation with the EU countries is becoming deeper and wider and this makes our joint fight against crime even more fruitful. Our states have all the tools to effectively counter crime and the global challenges, such as illegal migration ".
Currently two-three charter flights are made from Germany to different states, especially to the western Balkan countries. Last year, Germany deported totally 20888 citizens of different countries, among them - 19712 individuals were deported by air. Compared to the previous year, in 2015 this number was doubled. According to the information of the Federal Police, 4316 aliens became the subject of readmission to their own countries this year, including the end of February.
