As a result of jointly conducted operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Khelvachauri Police Division of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance arrested I.L., born in 1988, on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of drugs and illegal importation into Georgia.
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Law enforcement officers, as a result of checking the hand luggage of the accused person at the border checkpoint "Sarpi", seized 1245 pills containing a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs "Methadone" and "Buprenorphine" as evidence.
The police arrested I. L. as an accused person.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
