Employee of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs Shalva Bebiashvili took the 1st place at World Powerlifting Championship, which took place in Lutsk, Ukraine.
470 athletes from 18 countries took part in the championship which was organized by International Power Sports Union.
Georgian power sport athlete along with employee of the Special Tasks Department Ilia Kochiashvili successfully represented Ministry of Internal Affairs at the international championship
Shalva Bebiashvili competed in 125kg weight category of the two most popular styles of powerlifting: bench press and deadlift and won two gold medals. Athlete lifted 190 kg in bench press and 280 kg in deadlift.
Winner athletes were met at the Airport by employees of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department and Special Tasks Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Shalva Bebiashvili is a multiple winner of Georgian, European and World Championships.
