As it is known to the public, a gathering/demonstration is taking place on Chavchavadze Avenue and the adjacent territory of Varaziskhevi, within the framework of which the roadway is occupied.
Participants of the rally have placed various types of construction materials on Chavchavadze Avenue, artificially blocking the traffic routes.
According to the Article 11(1) of the Law of Georgia "On Assemblies and Manifestations", it is prohibited to block the traffic roadway, otherwise considering the number of participants. It is also not allowed to block the traffic roadway with vehicles, various constructions and/or other objects.
We call on the organizers and participants of the rally to clear the road and stop the gathering/demonstration on the roadway and express their protest within the limits defined by law.
According to Article 13 of the Law of Georgia “On Assemblies and Manifestations”, the organizers and participants of the assembly/manifestations are given a 15-minute deadline to take all appropriate measures to open the roadway and restore traffic movement. Otherwise, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will apply measures provided for by the legislation of Georgia.
We call on the organizers and participants of the assembly/manifestations to follow the rightful request of the police.
