The Director of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center Merab Malania held a meeting with the Foreign Affairs Officer of Europe and Asia office of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the US Department of State – Ms. Janelle Kuroda at the Base of Tbilisi Special Tasks Division. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director Vasil Revishvili, the Head of Tbilisi Special Tasks Division and other officials of the Department and the Administration of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center as well as the representatives of INL Tbilisi office of the US Embassy in Georgia.
During a meeting, the parties summarized the results achieved through mutual cooperation, discussed implemented projects and emphasized their importance in developing effective methods of fight against crime and set plans for future cooperation. The employees of the Special Tasks Department introduced the specific principles of their operations to the visitors and got them familiarized with the infrastructure and equipment of the Division. The staff of the Special Tasks Division demonstrated simulated training for the US representatives.
The Special Tasks Department of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center has been cooperating with the INL program for several years. The employees of the Special Tasks Department periodically undergo various types of trainings in the framework of this program. At the end of the meeting the Director of the Department emphasized the significance of the close cooperation, expressed gratitude towards the INL representatives for their support and handed over the memorable gift to the guest.
