Under the initiative of aviation security department of Georgian Airports Association, the officers of Special Operations and Emergency Management Departments of Special Measures Center have held joint training at Tbilisi International Airport. In the mentioned training “Georgian Airways” and “TAV Georgia” company also took part.
During the training simulated call was made on presence of the bomb at the airplane which was ready to take off thus emergency situation was announced. According to the previously elaborated plan emergency team of the airport and personnel of MIA Rescue training division of Emergency Management Department was mobilized. Employees of Emergency Management Department have evacuated airplane passengers after which the airplane was transported to the isolated place by the emergency team of the airport. Officers of MIA Special Operations Department managed to locate and neutralize the bomb.
Aim of the mentioned training was to tests co-ordination mechanisms and to demonstrate skills of emergency team of the airport and Special Operations and Emergency Management Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
