The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, head of the apparatus of Tbilisi City Hall Supervision Service- Jokia Bodokia (DoB 1972) was detained for accepting bribe in especially large quantities.
Detainee demanded bribe (10% of the hotel construction cost-180 000 USD) from the representative of certain private company in return for assisting to receive permit for hotel construction as well as for protection during the construction process. Jokia Bodokia accepted part of the requested sum- 50 000 USD in advance.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of accepting bribe in especially large quantities, article 338, II part, sub-paragraph “F” of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The committed crime envisages from 11 to 15 years of imprisonment.
