The Parliament of Georgia has adopted a legislative amendment on the recognition of diplomas issued by the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and their equalization with the Master’s degree.
The Parliament of Georgia adopted the amendment to the Law of Georgia on High Education in the third reading.
The amendment to the law implies the recognition of diplomas issued by the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia before the beginning of the 2007-2008 academic year and their equalization with the master's degree.
It should be noted that the recognition of diplomas issued before the beginning of 2007-2008 academic year was a problem in practice. The graduates of the academy achieved the recognition of the obtained diplomas and equalization with the master's degree by appealing to the court. As a result of the legislative changes, graduates of the academy will no longer have to go through court procedures to defend their legitimate interests.
