Mr. Nukri Gelashvili, director of MIA Academy of Georgia, awarded the winners of the student contest on Community Oriented Police organized by the MA School of MIA Academy. The competition was in progress during 3 weeks. Approximately 50 law faculty BA students from various accredited higher educational institutions from all over the country participated in the contest. On the conclusive stage, the commission board discussed the best paper works presented by the students.
Mr. Nukri Gelashvili, director of MIA Academy awarded the authors of the three best paper works with portable computers and the students occupying the fourth and the fifth places - with the tablet computers. The rest of the participants got the volumes of books on the history of Georgia. All the contesters who reached the conclusive stage were granted with certificates.
The contest aimed at getting interested the BA students of higher educational institutions with policing issues and informing them regarding the establishment of the MA school at MIA Academy of Georgia.
As a result of the contest held by MIA Academy the level of awareness of the students regarding current approaches and standards of policing in modern world was revealed. The paper works also showed the awareness of the students of the current MIA reforms corresponding with the world recognized conception on community policing.
