The officers of Samegrelo-zemo Svaneti Regional Division of Central Criminal Police Department as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained previously convicted for armed robbery and drugcrime Giga B. (DoN 1974) for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.
During the personal search law enforcers seized Makarov pistol, with three magazines and 22 bullets, one mask, one pair of gloves and belt for placing magazines. During the searching activities held in the detainee’s house police also found AKC automatic weapon, with five magazines and 165 bullets as well as two syringes filled up with drug substance, buprenorphine in particular.
As a result of drug test it was established that in the moment of detention Giga B. was under the drug influence.
Detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition and drugs, article 236, I part and article 260, I part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
