The officers of Investigative-operative Main Division of Border Police, as a result of operative-investigative activities detained Turkish citizen Izzit Sh. (DoB 1966) for using forged ID documents.
Law enforcers managed to detain the mentioned person at Sarpi border checkpoint in the attempt to cross Georgian state border to the direction of Turkey. Investigation established that detainee illegally entered Georgia on November 19, 2013 with the ID document issued on the name of his brother.
Investigators also ascertained that detainee was wanted by Turkish law enforcing agencies from 2013 by the Interpol under the red notice for crimes envisaged by articles: 102/2, 35/2. 102/2, 62, 53/1, 53/3, 109/2, 109/5 and 62 (threatening, sexual harassment, blackmailing and illegal restriction of freedom).
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and using of forged ID document, article 362, I part of the Criminal Code.
