The officers of Adigeni and Borjomi Regional Units of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main division of MIA as a result of investigative activities based on operative information exposed 16 persons: Tengiz B. (DoB 1960), Zurab G. (DoB 1987), Guram G. (DoB 1963), Jaba S (DoB 1989), Merab V (DoB 1985), Malkhaz M (DpB 1990), Revaz Ts. (DoB 1973), Tengiz N (DoB 1990), Alexander Ch. (DoB 1977), Davit G. (DoB 1960), Vapkhia A (DoB 1975), Paata Ph. (1981), David K (DoB 1976), Giorgi Sh. (DoB 1976), Alexander G. (DoB 1979) and Vakhtang V. (DoB 1983) to illegal Utilization of Forest, statutory violations of timber transportation and violation of timber processing facility directive requirements.
Law enforcers sealed illegal sawmill in the yard of one of the exposed persons in village Chobiskhevi, Borjomi region. Jaba S. had removed a sealing-wax installed by environment agencies and planned to process illegally cut wood. Police officers seized 8,80 cubic meters of material wood and 4,30 cubic meters of processed boards from Jaba S’s-owned yard, whilst in Borjomi region law enforcers seized – illegally cut 5,8 cubic meters of material coniferous wood and 18 pieces of 3 meters long material wood. Illegally cut, 3 meters long, 114 pieces of round coniferous wood logs, as well as 3 cubic meters of sawed boards and 6 cubic meters of material wood. The law enforcers sealed illegal sawmills in both regions.
