Within the frames of the police reform another work group meeting was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of International and local non-governmental organizations.
MIA representatives introduced police reform 2017-2021 renewed strategy and action plan; activities conducted to improve conditions in the angle of human rights at temporary detention isolators; ongoing and planned projects in the Emergency Response Center “112”; social campaigns implemented by the MIA Public Relations Department with the aim to raise the awareness among society and crime prevention.
Criminal Justice reform in Georgia is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union. All law enforcement agencies are involved in the process as well as public defender’s office, international and non-governmental organizations. The aim of the working group is to discuss the ongoing police reform and define relevant recommendations.
