The officers of Detectives and District Inspectors Divisions of the Police Department of Adjara A/R, along with the officers of Batumi Division and Khelvachauri Regional Division as a result of operative-searching activities detained 4 individuals - Kadir A. (DoB: 1969), Jemal T. (DoB: 1971), Tarik A. (DoB: 1972) and Ketevan B. (DoB: 1974) - for providing lodging to prostitution.
The investigation established that detained persons provided lodging to prostitution for certain amount of cash in their hotels and rented flats in Batumi and Gonio.
The law enforcers have already interrogated hotel personnel and female witnesses. The detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of making available an area for prostitution (Article 254 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
