Within the frames of complex measures carried out in recent days, Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in close coordination with relevant units of the Ministry, 33 foreign citizens were deported from Georgia.
Some of them left Georgia voluntarily, while others were deported from the country. In accordance with the acting legislation, the deported persons were banned from entering the country.
A total of 33 citizens of India, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Iran, Bangladesh, Iraq, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan were deported from Georgia.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify and expel foreign citizens who are in Georgia without legal grounds.
