The officers of Central Criminal Police Department and Border Police, as a result of joint operative-investigative activities detained previously convicted Malkhaz B. (DoB 1963) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.
During the personal search police seized 51,5 gr of drugs, which contained 14,0 gr of heroin. Law enforcers also seized 1,68 gr of hemp.
Investigation also established that detainee purchased the mentioned drugs in Turkey for 2200 Turkish Liras and smuggled to Georgia.
Drug test revealed that Malkhaz B. was under opium influence.
Detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities, article 260, III part, sub-paragraph 3 and article 262, IV part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code. Investigation is conducted by Central Criminal Police Department.
