The officers of Ajara Regional Main Division and Batumi police division as a result of investigative and searching activities simultaneously held in Batumi and Lagodekhi, detained five members of the so called Thieves’ world, in particular: Roman D. (Dob 1969) Tengiz Ts. (DoB 1968) Otar Dz. (DoB 1981) Geno D. (DoB 1983) and Mindia T. (DoB 1986). The mentioned persons were detained membersgip of the thieves’ world and extortion committed by the group.
Investigation established that detainees were involved in skirmishes according to the law of the criminal world and extorted cash in various quantities from the citizens by intimidation and threats.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the criminal world and extortion committed in group, article 2231 and article 181, III part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
