The officers of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the MIA detained Davit Z. (DoB: 1984) for illicit purchase-keeping of firearm and purchase-keeping and transportation of drugs in especially large quantity.
The law enforcers at the 24th km of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway with the purpose of inspection stopped scooter driven by Davit Z. As a result of his personal search the drug - crude marijuana - packed in three polyethylene bags was seized from sport rucksack. While during the search of a luggage rack of the scooter “Walter” system “P-22” model firearm, 2 magazines, 18 bullets, “Ekol Special 99” model gas pistol not belonging to the category of firearms and drug – marijuana – packed in two polyethylene bags were seized. In total 4 kg. and 425.95 gr. of crude marijuana were seized.
The investigation established that the seized "Walter" system firearm was stolen from the flat in Tskneti in the beginning of 2013; the mentioned firearm is searched by the Fourth Unit of Old Tbilisi Division of Tbilisi Main Division of the MIA from 2013.
The investigation is in progress for purchase-keeping and transportation of drugs in especially large quantity, as well as for illicit purchase-keeping and transportation of firearms and ammunition (Sub clause “a” of the 6th part of the Article 260 and parts 2 and 3 of the Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
