The officers of Didube-Chughureti police division as a result of immediate investigative activities detained Gela A. (DoB 1959) for armed assault.
Investigation established that Gela A. armed with automatic weapon assaulted currency exchange booth located near to “Didube” metro station and demanded cash from the booth employee under the threats of liquidation. Employee of the currency exchange booth Davit B. offered resistance to the offender which was followed by the shot to his direction. As a result, Davit B. was wounded in leg area.
After having taken operative measures, law enforcers detained the offender at the place of crime. Davit B. was hospitalized and his condition of health is satisfactory at the moment.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed assault, article 179 of the Criminal Code.
