Zviad Katsashvili the director of Emergency Situations Management Agency and his first Deputy Levan Buiglishvili took part in the fifth European civil security forum- “Partnership and Innovations” held in Brussels on 6-7 May. Forum on European civil security is a large-scale event and held once in every two years under the organization of the Directorate General for humanitarian aid and civil security of the European Commission. Main topics of the forum were as follows: partnership with UN and European organizations and civil security organizations as well as with private companies, non-governmental organizations, medical institutions and etc. new technologies, research and development connections, innovative ways of involving the public and partner organizations.
Zviad Katsashvili the director of Emergency Situations Management Agency has addressed forum participants with a speech within the frames of "EU neighborhood countries and the EU civil security arrangements for closer cooperation” high-level round-table format. Director of the Agency and his Deputy were invited at Emergency Response Coordination Center as representatives of the PPRD East Partner Program.
Within the frames of the two-day forum, where more than 900 representatives were present, open and closed exhibitions were held. At the forum interested partner countries presented strategic vision on the approach to the EU civil security mechanisms, evaluated achievements and outlined ways of overcoming the current challenges.
