Georgian National Gallery hosted the event “Live Library” held within the frames of the PH International Project “Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization” (GE CALLS).
The “Live Library” is an educational method developed within the frames of the European Council Youth Directorate campaign where the individuals imitate the library and animate the books. The beneficiaries of the project have the opportunity to "subscribe" and "read" any "books" i.e. to talk with the presenter of the “book”.
The “readers” of the “Live” library were 40 pupils of the 9-12 grades of Tbilisi Public Schools. The "Books" were presented by Mr. Archil Talakvadze, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Mr. Ian Kelly, the Ambassador of the USA.
The program was participated by the professionals of legal and youth fields: police officer, prosecutor, criminal expert, medical expert, social worker, former convict, youth worker and others.
Mr. Archil Talakvadze talked about his career path. He explained why he chose management as his profession and what are the difficulties associated with this it. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs also talked about the duties of a police officer, the important role of law enforcers and answered the questions of young "readers”.
The mentioned project is implemented with the financial assistance of the US State Department`s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). The partners of the Program are the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia
