The Head of MIA Border Police, General Major Nikoloz Sharadze hosted Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Kathryn Insley and the Representatives of Export Control and Border Security Program (EXBS) on the Georgian Coast Guard Department Poti Base.
The aim of the visit was to introduce to the Border Police’s Coast Guard Department’s capacity and activities and also to discuss the future cooperation plans.
Director of Coast Guard Department, Captain, Ramaz Papidze, Head of Joint Maritime Operations Centre (JMOC), II Rank Captain, Shota Mirotadze, EXBS Strategy and Planning Team Leader, Ms. Julia Khersonsky, EXBS Program Manager for Georgia and Turkey Ms. Jaclyn Kellon and EXBS Regional advisor in Georgia, Ms. Rosie Petrov Participated in the meetings.
The Head of Border Police, General Major expressed the gratitude to the members of US delegation for successful cooperation. General introduced the priorities of Georgian Coast Guard Department, JMOC and the existing infrastructure of Poti Base. The Georgian and US sides discussed the ongoing joint projects and future cooperation plans. In the framework of visit, the guests also visited JMOC. The Head of JMOC informed the guests about the activities of JMOC.
