The representatives of police units are mobilized in connection with manifestation taking place in the vicinity of the Parliament to ensure the public order.
The manifestation is taking place from May 12, 22:00pm and participants are located on the streets surrounding the Parliament, including Z. Zhvania, Sh. Chitadze and B. Chichinadze streets where entrances of the legislative body are located.
The organizers and participants of the rally publicly declare that they will not allow the parliament members to attend and participate in the Legal Committee session of the Parliament scheduled for May 13 at 09:00 am.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on the organizers and participants of the manifestation to clear the entrances of the legislative body, to allow the parliament members and staff to enter the parliament building and exercise their parliamentary powers. Otherwise, police will act within the frames of powers stipulated by law and ensure that the entry ways to the parliament are cleared by police forces.
Once again, we call on citizens in the vicinity of the building of the legislative body to follow the rightful request of police, not to block parliament entrances, and refrain from illegal and violent actions.
Herewith, we call on the representatives of various media working on the ground to follow the instructions of the law enforcers and not to hinder them in fulfilling official duties stipulated by the law.
