On April 10, of the current year, Operative Response Center “112” received report that citizen fired from the automatic weapon several times in the yard of his house located on Nadikvari Street, Tbilisi. Based on the received report the officers of Old Tbilisi Police Division arrived at the site operatively.
In connection with the mentioned fact, policemen detained previously convicted Nodar Sh. and seized unregistered automatic weapon as evidence. Law enforcers also seized cartridge-cases and vehicle owned by the detainee’s son Mikheil Sh. on which the traces of firing were visible.
During the investigative activities, persons who were interviewed stated that detainee had a conflict with his son Mikheil Sh. as a result of which detainee made several shots in the yard and street.
The interviewed persons did not mention that Mikheil Sh. was wounded in leg as a result of the shooting. The wounded person also hid the mentioned fact from the police. It is worth to mention, that no trace of the wound was visible on the body of Mikheil Sh. Police discovered no traces of blood in the yard and adjacent territory as well.
As it was later stated by the spouse of Mikheil Sh.- Mariam T. (DoB 1997), initially she hid the information to the police due to the categorical demand of her husband. However, despite the warnings of her husband, she told the police the truth and asked for medical aid when she noticed that her husband’s health condition deteriorated.
After the mentioned, in order to timely render the medical aid, law enforcers immediately put Mikheil Sh. in the police car and took him to the nearest hospital.
Despite the rendered medical aid, Mikhel Sh. died an hour later after he was transferred to the hospital. The reason of his death will be defined by the results of the expertise which is already scheduled to be held.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder committed on the basis of domestic violence and illegal purchase and keeping of firearms, article 236 and article 11-108 of the Criminal Code.
