Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze attended the presentation of new Hate Crime and Hate Speech Online Course and addressed the participants. Deputy Minister wished success to the participants of the course and expressed his gratitude to the Council of Europe (CoE) as well as to the representatives of partner institutions for fruitful cooperation.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Natalia Voutova and Deputy Prosecutor General, Natia Merebashvili.
The training course is intended for investigators, prosecutors and judges. Participants paid attention to the topical issues related to the fight against hate crime and the measures taken to combat such crimes.
Distance learning course aims at supporting legal professionals in better understanding of hate crime and hate speech in Europe.
The course includes five modules and envisages interactive discussion regarding legal response to hate crime and complex problems related to hate speech.
HELP Distance Learning Course- “Hate Crime and Hate Speech” has been implemented in the framework of Council of Europe project “Fight against Discrimination, Hate Crimes and Hate Speech In Georgia”. The project has been carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other partner agencies.
