The Officers of Tbilisi, Shida Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Imereti Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of recent operational measures and investigative actions, seized illegal firearms and ammunition - 7 people arrested.
The following persons have been arrested for the illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition: Z.Z., born in 1963, Z.Ts., born in 1973, R.K., born in 1982, R.Sh., born in 1988, M.Ts., born in 1967, and persons with previous convictions: F.B., born in 1972, and N.Ts., born in 1972.
As a result of searching the detainees' personal belongings, vehicles and residential places, law enforcement officers seized various types of firearms and ammunition - pistols, revolvers, a hunting rifle, grips, cartridges, as well as narcotics.
The investigation is underway under Articles 236, parts II, III and IV, as well as Article 260, part III of Article 265, part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
