Two-day training on “Fight against Cybercrime” has started at the MIA Academy for the representatives of various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The training was opened by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia- Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Georgia- Petr Mikyska. The Rector of the MIA Academy-Ivane Papiashvili and the Director of International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia-Ekaterine Machavariani also attended the opening event.
Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Petr Mikyska addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and wished them success. The training is conducting with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic and organization by the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The training is led by four Czech experts working in the field of fight against cybercrime.
The participants of the course discussed the issues such as: fight against cybercrime, inter-agency cooperation in the fight against cybercrime, EU cybersecurity strategy and cooperation with third countries in this direction.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Georgia got acquainted with the work specifics of the MIA Academy and viewed school infrastructure, including physical training hall and shooting range. Petr Mikyska also attended a simulation training.
The main goal of the training is to enhance the capacity of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia working in the direction of fight against cybercrime and share experience of the Czech side. A return visit of the Georgian experts in the Czech Republic is planned in the future.
