Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia held a meeting with the high officials of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA – Istanbul Office). The Minister introduced conducted reforms and achieved progress by the MIA in the sphere of combating illicit drug trafficking.
The parties discussed perspectives of future cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Drug Enforcement Agency. Mr. Gomelauri has underlined the importance of support rendered by the US side in capacity building of the Ministry and pertinent role of the Bureaus and Programs of US State Department.
High officials of the relevant departments of MIA also attended the meeting together with the Minister.
