Minister of the Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri held an introductory meeting with the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia - Natalia Voutova.
The Minister of Internal Affairs reviewed the recommendations and regulations developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure the conduction of Parliamentary Elections in free, safe and peaceful environment.
At the meeting the parties discussed the ongoing and planned reforms in the Ministry, as well as stressed the importance of jointly implemented and ongoing projects in developing the capacity of the Ministry.
Vakhtang Gomelauri underlined the important projects implemented in the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the support of the Council of Europe and expressed gratitude to Natalia Voutova for long-term effective cooperation.
The Council of Europe has close cooperation with the Ministry of the Internal Affairs and implements projects in important directions, including human rights protection.
