Minister of Internal Affairs hosted the high-rank officials of the Kingdom of Belgium. Delegation is comprised of the State Secretary for Asylum and Migration Mr. Theo Francken , Director General of the Immigration Office Mr. Freddy Rooseemont, Spokeswoman of the State Secretary Ms. Katrien Jansseune, the Advisor of the State Secretary Ms. Maaike De Vreese and Attache Federal Public Service of Home Affairs Ms. Katy Verzelen. The aim of the visit is the familiarization with the reforms undertaken by Georgia on migration issues and the progress achieved, as well as promotion of bilateral relations and future fruitful cooperation.
Within the framework of the visit, delegation members also visited the Temporary detention Center of the MIA Migration Department and the MRA Asylum Seekers Reception Center in Martkopi. Meetings were held with the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Justice, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia.
