Representatives of the US Naval Force are paying the four-day official visit to Georgia. US-owned vessel “OAK HILL” (LSD-51) entered Batumi port on March 17.
Within the frames of the visit, the representatives of the vessel crew met with the heads of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting was also held with the heads of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and Batumi Mayor. Joint trainings (PASSEX) are planned to be carried out in the direction of Maltakva with the participation of the United States Naval Force vessel and the representatives of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of Georgia. American vessel shall demonstrate landing and amphibian maneuvers.
A friendly match in soccer shall be held between the crew members of the vessel and the officers of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police. After the event American guests will host Georgian colleagues on the board of their vessel.
The US Naval Force vessel “OAK HILL” (LSD-51) will leave Georgia's territorial waters on March 20.
