The Ministry of Internal Affairs shows immediate response to each case of domestic and women violence within the law. 11 individuals are detained by the police since March 2 to now in Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Guria and Kvemo Kartli for domestic violence.
The officers of Gori Regional Division of Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained G.Ts (date of birth: 1998) on charges of domestic violence and incitement to suicide in Gori. The crime committed by him subjects to the term of imprisonment up to 1 year.
The investigation found that the defendant verbally and physically assaulted his wife – N.K (date of birth: 1988), after which he inflicted injuries on the throat and wrist area of the victim by a sharp item. N.K was immediately transferred to Gori Medical Establishment. At this time, her health is no longer in danger.
The detainee admits his guilt.
Investigation is in progress on facts of domestic violence and incitement to suicide – the crime envisaged by the 1st part of the 1261 and the article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Law enforcers detained one more offender on the fact of domestic violence in Gori – G.K (date of birth: 1991), who verbally and physically assaulted his pregnant wife. The offense committed by him subjects to the term of imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
Investigation is conducted on the fact of violence committed knowingly against a pregnant woman by a family member.
