The officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative and search activities arrested R.G. (DoB 1974) accused of premeditated murder and attempted premeditated murder in Batumi.
The investigation established that on the night of October 8 of the current year, the accused person shot and wounded the brothers T.K. (DoB 1972) and A.K. (DoB 1964), in their own apartment and fled from the place of crime.
As a result of the received injuries, T.K. died at the place of crime, while wounded A.K. was taken to a hospital where he received appropriate medical treatment.
On October 13 of the current year, R.G. was charged in absentia under Article 108 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Article 19-109, Part II, Sub-paragraph "B" (attempted premeditated murder of a person in a helpless condition) and was declared as wanted.
The accused person was detained in Tbilisi as a result of operative-investigative activities.
Police seized the weapon of crime as evidence.
Detained R.G. was transferred to a penitentiary facility.
